Warm Hearts, Cold Night: CNOY Returns to the St. Croix Valley

River Falls, WI – [January 9, 2025] – River Valley Charities (RVC) is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) event, taking place on February 22, 2025 in downtown Hudson. This family-friendly, “winterrific” fundraising walk supports people experiencing hunger, hurt, and homelessness in the St. Croix Valley.

CNOY is a unique and inspiring event that brings the community together to show solidarity and compassion for neighbors in need. By walking together, participants demonstrate a commitment to supporting those facing hardship within our community. Last year, the inaugural Hudson CNOY event was a resounding success, raising over $60,000 – exceeding initial expectations and ranking as the #1 first-time CNOY event in the nation.

Proceeds from this year's event will directly benefit three vital organizations providing essential resources to families in need throughout the St. Croix Valley:

  • Our Neighbors' Place (River Falls)
  • Grace Place (New Richmond)
  • The Farm at YMCA Camp St. Croix (Hudson)
The Hudson walk begins and ends at Midcurrent Church, right off the beautiful St. Croix River. Participants will walk a 1 or 3-mile route, can warm up with toasty warm beverages at the rest stop along the way, and will be able to celebrate their efforts together with a warm dinner at the finish line. All those who raise over $150 (or $75 for youth) will also earn the iconic CNOY beanie as they face the cold.

RVC encourages everyone to get involved! Form a team with friends, family, or colleagues. Consider sponsoring the event at various levels. Or, volunteer your time to ensure a smooth and successful experience for all participants.
