Join us for a very special evening with Dr. Devorah Heitner. Heitner is an international speaker, best-selling author, and the founder and director of Raising Digital Natives, a research-driven online resource designed to help parents and educators empower children (and keep kids safe) in a world of digital connectedness. Mark your calendar! This FREE public presentation is on Wednesday, September 13, at 6:30PM in the High School Auditorium (RSVP to our Facebook event for updates!).  FREE childcare will be available. No preregistration is necessary.

Many parents feel that their kids are addicted, detached, or distracted because of their digital devices. Heitner’s book, Screenwise, offers a realistic and optimistic perspective on how parents can thoughtfully guide kids in the digital age. Join us for this community-wide conversation- perfect for parents, teachers, or anyone interested in gaining insight into kids’ digital worlds. Stop to enjoy a cup of coffee and chat with Dr. Heitner on Thursday morning, September 14, from 7:30-8:30AM. This is a great opportunity for anyone with questions from the previous night’s presentation or for anyone who missed it!

CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY

On Thursday, September 14, from 1:30-3:30PM, Dr. Heitner will facilitate a professional development workshop in the lower level of the River Falls Public Library (140 Union Street, River Falls, WI 54022). In this workshop for educators and advocates, Heitner will “train the trainers,” explaining best-practice techniques for connecting with parents about their kids’ technology use.
