CEO Ronak Shah of Mazamba, a Twin Cities sports apparel company, will donate 150 soccer uniform kits for Pambazuka Partners. For the past several years UWRF faculty members Linda Alvarez and Jose Vega have been working with Pambazuka Partners (formerkt NGO Lecden), and at the end of May are going with their students on a service-learning trip to Kenya and will bring the uniforms among other donations.
How: This effort was brought together by the filmmakers and producers of "Ana’s Playground," which highlights the plight of children across the world. Shah, on behalf of his company Mazamba, and filmmakers Jillian Nodland of the Picture Factory, writer/director Eric D. Howell, LA-based producer Marsha Trainer, also donated soccer uniforms to Iraqi children through the Minnesota National Guard 34th Infantry Division and are continuing to film the plight of children around the world.
Howell and Nodland will also be on hand at the event.
