Description
Dr. Bob and Mary Conroy Johnson travel to Mexico several times a year bringing used eyeglasses from Wisconsin Lions Clubs. The couple will talk about their work there, its effect on impoverished Mexicans, and how you can help. This program is part of "River Falls Reads," an annual community read that is focusing this year on "Three Cups of Tea." This book tells the story of Greg Mortenson and his rash pledge to build a school in a remote mountain village in Pakistan. Less than a decade later his organization, the Central Asia Institute, has built more than 60 schools.
