Description
Former Hudsonite Don Linehan talks about his new book, ?Off the Farm/Into the World: An American farm family grows up in the fifties.? A retired 3M executive, Linehan now lives in Virginia, but memories of growing up among many siblings on the family farm are still powerful. His book is the story of a third-generation Irish and German-American Wisconsin family and of that farm, located between Hudson, River Falls, and Roberts. It follows their fortunes from the heartbreak of the Depression through the peak years of family farming in the 1950s and down into the valley of the 60s when the growth of giant agribusinesses signaled the decline of the family farm. Books available that night and at Freeman Drug.
