Description
On Denim Day, April 24th, Turningpoint asks local businesses in downtown River Falls and New Richmond to show their support for sexual assault victims and survivors by wearing denim.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. During this month, communities across the nation collectively come together to focus on the societal problem of sexual violence and its impacts. This year we have chosen to show our support for sexual assault victims and survivors by wearing denim on Denim Day and we ask that you join us! Denim Day began when the Italian supreme court overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped her rapist remove her jeans. To learn more visit this website: https://www.denimdayinfo.org/why-denim
On April 24th,Turningpoint advocates will be walking down Main St. to take pictures of participating businesses wearing denim. We will post the pictures on our Facebook page and the business with the most Denim Day spirit will win a pizza party, on us!
