Description
The Dish and Spoon Café in River Falls will host a Cosmic Science Café about the nature of space and time on Nov. 10 from 7-8 p.m. with UW-River Falls Professor Glenn Spiczak’s conversation, "A Dish of Space, A Spoon of Time – Recipe of the Cosmos," a topic inspired by the upcoming NOVA series “The Fabric of the Cosmos.”

A science café is a live—and lively—event in a casual setting: Cafés have been held in pubs, restaurants, actual cafes, and even in a bowling alley. There is no stuffy lecture or slideshow—the speaker presents the science in lay terms and facilitates a dynamic conversation with a diverse audience.

This Cosmic Café focuses on the workings of the universe and what physics, quantum mechanics, astronomy, and cosmology can tell us about reality and…ourselves.

Watch episodes of “The Fabric of the Cosmos” on PBS, airing Wednesday evening, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 23. Whether you get a chance to watch an episode before the café or not does not matter – bring your sense of wonder and prepare to be boggled!  Sponsored by the UWRF Society of Physics Students.
