Description
Intrepid wilderness guide and camping expert Cliff Jacobson returns to the River Falls Public Library on Saturday, May 3 prepared to share his secrets about how to unwelcome guests out of your camp. Jacobson says ?Bear-proofing Your Camp? is his most popular seminar and you will soon see why. His presentation is fast-paced, informative, and funny. Protect yourself and your food whether you?re trekking the Artic, the Boundary Waters, or the back woods of Wisconsin. Boning up on bear behavior and what to do if you meet one is a good idea, and Jacobson offers practical, up-to-date advice based on the latest research while challenging some accepted beliefs. Learn why there are differences between black bear and grizzly bear behavior, how a bear?s previous contact with humans changes their natural reactions, and the safest place to store your food in camp (hint: it?s not in a tree!) Also an author, Jacobson is a member of the outdoor Writers Association of America and winner of the American Canoe Association Legends of Paddling Award. He will have several of his books and videos available for sale.
