Mark will discuss our current situation and share some demographic data from Wisconsin and from our neighborhood. This will set the stage for the workforce challenges that we will face as employers in the coming years. The real question for employers is this: How will you recruit and retain great Team Members when they have more opportunities than ever before. This new generation thinks differently, (where have we heard that before? I think they said this about us too.) Are you prepared? Do you understand what they are even looking for?
One thing is for certain, the workplace is changing. Family Friendly Workplaces works to help companies navigate what this means and helps companies get recognition for their Family Friendly policies and practices. Being differentiated from that rest of the competing employers will be key to attracting and retaining great Team Members.
Come and learn how Family Friendly Workplaces can help you and at the same time build resources for community and family supporting nonprofits.
Some background on Mark Tyler, founder of Family Friendly Workplaces, Inc.
Mark Tyler has served in many governance roles at the University of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Technical College System, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, and has volunteered with many organizations such as Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, The Governor’s Early Childhood Advisory Council, the Family Resource Center St Croix Valley, United Way St Croix Valley / Success by 6, and he currently chairs the Governor’s Council on Workforce Investment. These activities are all connected in one way or another to developing Wisconsin’s workforce. He recently retired from OEM Fabricators, Inc., where he served as President for over thirty years.
In his retirement, Mark continues to work at the intersections of the public and private sectors and nonprofits, and their connections with encouraging workforce development, growing successful children and supporting families.
