Description
Did you know that sign language is the third most widely used non-English language in the United States? Knowing the basics of Sign Language can be an invaluable skill. This introductory class is for those with little or no sign language experience. Learn the basics of the manual alphabet and conversation. Practice both receptive and expressive skills, and learn about deaf culture. This class covers: • Manual alphabet • Fundamental conversation • Basic elements of American Sign Language • Receptive skills (watching and understanding sign) • Facial expression and body language • Introduction to deaf culture
