SUMMARY:UWRF Working in the Field: Student Projects around the World
DESCRIPTION:Join us in the Kinni Theater\, this presentation will share projects UWRF students from different majors worked on collaboratively in the CERS China Internship Program including: teaching Tibetans how to make cheese from Yak milk\; documenting a Tibetan master potter with a 2000-year tradition for pottery in his village\; setting up a living museum for the Lisu tribe\; and collecting\, cataloguing and storing over 200 artifacts from the last Li village (the original people) on Hainan Island as they are moved into concrete/cement houses\, abandoning their traditional thatched homes. Independent research projects completed in Semester Abroad Europe will include: photo documentation of traditional occupations on Orkney\, Organic Farming in Portugal\, Survey on the New Parliament Proposal in Great Britain\, Karst (Cave) Research in Slovenia\, and many more. Come hear what students have done around the world!
