Steve Shimek\, an area resident with more than 20 years experience as a Plant Health Specialist with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture\, will be leading the sessions.  He is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture and a Certified Forester with the Society of American Foresters.  This session will cover basic function of plants and how they react and interact with one another in the landscape. What you do to your turf can affect your trees and other landscape plants.  Proper pruning\, fertilization\, mulching and other treatments must take into account how the tree will react.
