DESCRIPTION:The Outdoor Painters of Minnesota will paint the town on October 7\, and the public is invited to observe between 10AM and 1PM. Nearly a dozen regional artists will be in River Falls to create work "en plein air." \n\n\n\nFrench for "outdoors\," plein air painting is\, simply\, the act of painting outside. This method contrasts with studio painting or academic rules- there is never a predetermined look in plein air painting. Artists will be located in areas around downtown River Falls/the Kinnickinnic River. Visit the library lower level for a map of artist locations the day of the event. Work created on October 7 will be featured in the River Falls Public Library Gallery from November 11 to December 15\, 2017 in an exhibition titled "Waters Between Us\," with an opening reception on Saturday\, November 11 from 2-4pm.
