We specialize in all the above areas and are looking for a team to match it. We are currently looking for a Shop Mechanic/Maintenance, whose job duties include but are no limited to:

Role and Responsibilities

As Shop Mechanic/Maintenance for Ross & Associates, you will be responsible for handling all Shop Inventory, lock out / tag out, and assisting in Field Support on the job site, which includes but is not limited to the following:


  • Regularly keep all Ross & Associates, Ltd. vehicles clean, neat, and presentable

  • Update vehicle maintenance logs and turn them into the President of Operations. Handle all oil changes, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance (self-perform if possible) on Ross & Associates vehicles. Major repairs/ maintenance to be approved by President of operations.

  • Make recommendations to president of operations for items needed to make construction crew’s tasks more efficient

  • DOT logs – verification that all are in place and available

  • DOT certification of all vehicles and trailers


  • Perform minor repairs, oil changes and preventative maintenance on Ross & Associates Ltd’s tools, equipment trailers,     etc. Major repairs and maintenance to be approved by President of Operations.

  • Track and schedule through sign in and out sheets, the location of all trailers, job site trailers, jobsite telephones, etc.

  • Purchase items with amounts pre-approved by Project Manager or Project Superintendent that would be charged to a job. Deliver items to the various jobsites. Ensure we are getting the best pricing.

  • Perform or coordinate all equipment / vehicle repairs needed either on site or

  • Purchase of minor (less than $25) tools, equipment, materials, not charged to a special job. Purchases over $25 to be recommended for the approval of the President of Operations

  • Perform safety inspections and updates on all tools, vehicles and equipment

  • Perform and sign off on any safety inspections required for any equipment

    Field Support

  • Set up job trailers and project signs

  • Deliver material, equipment, and tools to jobsites requesting

  • Work on jobsites as necessary to complete the day’s work

  • Load out and clean up of jobsites upon completion

  • Abide and follow ALL company safety policies at all times.

    Shop/Storage Area

  • Store tools, equipment, materials, trailers, etc. in a neat and orderly fashion per shop layout

  • Keep the shop area swept and clean

  • Keep and maintain tools requiring security in the lock-up. Maintain O&M manuals on all tools and equipment

  • Maintain and update all MSDS sheets and information on material stored in the shop area

  • The employee in this position MUST develop a back up plan to allow access to all equipment, shop office and tool crib in the event of their absence.


  • Handle any warranty work on Ross & Associates, Ltd. projects as directed by the President of Operations

  • Handle all maintenance on all Ross & Associates, Ltd. buildings as directed by President of Operations


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must Safely Operate Forklift and Manlift

  • Train and Qualify employees on all equipment

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Organized & Team Player

  • Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills

  • Manual Dexterity and Hand-Eye Coordination

  • Able to transport material to and from Job Site

  • Ambitious and Self-Motivated

  • Courteous and Positive attitude
