Name: Plein Air Paint-Out
Date: October 7, 2017
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
The Outdoor Painters of Minnesota will paint the town! French for "outdoors," plein air painting is, simply, the act of painting outside. This method contrasts with studio painting or academic rules- there is never a predetermined look in plein air painting. Artists will be located in areas around downtown River Falls/the Kinnickinnic River. Visit the library lower level for a map of artist locations the day of the event. Work created on October 7 will be featured in the River Falls Public Library Gallery from November 11 to December 15, 2017 in an exhibition titled "Waters Between Us," with an opening reception on Saturday, November 11 from 2-4pm. Outdoor Painters of Minnesota is dedicated to encourage and promote painting directly from nature. OPM provides regular opportunities for members to paint together, looks for ways to develop member skills and reputation, and seeks to raise awareness of the beauty found in nature through outdoor painting.

Artists will be located in areas around Downtown River Falls and the Kinninckinnic River.
