Description
In this exhibit, professional writers and photographers Tom Lindfors and Michele Hermansen share how their Africa experiences have changed their impressions of the continent and impacted their daily lives. They have chosen the Swahili concept of Ubuntu, ? how each person?s wholeness is inextricably bound to other people, the natural and the spiritual worlds ? as the principal theme guiding their presentation. You are invited to meet the artists at a reception Thursday evening, October 9, from 5-7 p.m. An award-winning photographer, Lindfors uses photography as a tool to explore the importance of community. Hermansen is a photographer and author who leads small-group discovery trips to east Africa. Her perspectives of our global connectedness and approaches to life are deeply impacted by her Africa experiences. In addition to the visual images and writings, music and a display of African artifacts will draw the viewer further into the life and spirit of the culture.
